Great Lakes Biogas Technologies Inc. Announces Americas License for the Revolution Compactor
MARIETTA, GA--(Marketwire - December 1, 2008) - Mr. Miles Reimersma, President of Great Lakes
Biogas Technologies Inc. (
The Revolution compacts waste for ease of transportation. With plastics it
has an impressive 50 to 1 compaction ratio. Bruce Coxhead, President and
CEO of Zero Waste, said, "All waste producers are becoming sensitive to the
cost of shipping the liquids that make up the majority of wet wastes, and
the air that makes up the majority of dry wastes. They want to find a way
to remove both of them before they are loaded onto a truck and disposed of,
both at great expense. The Revolution compactor removes both air and
liquids, highly reducing the cost of transportation. Some examples of its
use is to de-water wood pulp, concentrate packaging waste like soda pop and
shampoos, and complete product destruction of electronic and automotive
parts."
The technology is also a great fit with Great Lakes' high-efficiency
anaerobic digester as it divides waste into two streams. With wet waste,
the liquid slurry stream from organic wastes can be used as feed in
digesters and will improve the digesters efficiency by not including
indigestible non organic waste. Zero Waste has identified several waste
streams that can be used in conjunction with the digester and compactor
such as animal renderings, vegetable processor wastes, soups and dairy
products.
Great Lakes sees lots of potential in this technology. In the UK and France
alone it has a base of 320 installed units in many Fortune 500 companies.
The Revolution compactor is one of the most efficient compactors on the
market, it can offer a ROI in less than a year, and it is a good strategic
fit with Great Lakes anaerobic digesters.
