BRISBANE, CA--(Marketwire - October 26, 2009) - GlobalEnglish Corporation
(www.GlobalEnglish.com), the leading provider of on-demand learning and
support for business English communication, today announced key executive
hires for "The Experience Team." The world-class team consists of top
business, technical and academic minds focused on creating, developing and
delivering the definitive English language learning experience customized
to each individual GlobalEnglish user.
"As the leading provider of English language learning, GlobalEnglish is
completely focused on helping global companies maximize success in today's
international marketplace through increasing productive communication,"
said Deepak Desai, CEO and President of GlobalEnglish. "Productive
communication requires a common language and that language is English.
'The Experience Team' represents some of the best and brightest minds in
business, technology and academia -- all dedicated to creating the easiest
and most engaging path for each learner to develop strong and effective
communication skills in business English."
The search process to assemble "The Experience Team" was led by Sheila
Madden, Sr. Vice President of Talent Management. Madden joined
GlobalEnglish full time in January of 2009 to oversee the global talent
management team and to continue the organizational development and
executive leadership coaching she provided as a consultant since March
2008. Madden came with over 20 years of expertise, including senior
management roles at The Learning Company and IBM. Most recently she served
as the principal of Madden Coaching & Consulting.
Les Schmidt joined GlobalEnglish as Chief Operating Officer with 20 years
of executive experience working with technology and emerging-growth
companies. Schmidt served as Vice President of Worldwide Custom Solutions
and Business Operations for the Mobile and Devices business unit at Adobe
Systems, as well as founded The Information Privacy Company and fulfilled
senior leadership roles at MECON, Inc., The Learning Company and Applied
Immune Sciences.
Schmidt now leads "The Experience Team" -- consisting of visual and
interaction designers, English language experts, content creators, software
and quality engineers, information technology specialists and customer
support located in the Americas, Asia and Europe -- all focused on how to
best guide the user through the individual process of acquiring a second
language.
Santosh Jha became a member of "The Experience Team" as Vice President of
Product Development and Technology to oversee and lead technical product
development, business intelligence and infrastructure. Jha has over 20
years of experience in technology strategy, architecture, implementation,
engineering management and product design in senior positions for
Hewlett-Packard, Tata Engineering and Intuit.
Michelle Haag came on board as Vice President of Product Management and
User Experience to build a world-class global product and design team.
Haag's background in strategic senior management roles at Yahoo! Inc., IBM,
Rational Software, pets.com and Documentum made her the ideal candidate to
deliver innovative digital media products with a deep focus on creating
highly engaging user experiences.
Richard Taylor rounded out the key executive hires as Director of Learning
and Performance to manage the GlobalEnglish learning content. Taylor comes
from both a business and scholarly background. In addition to senior
executive roles at TIBCO, Reuters and Cargill, Taylor has several published
works in the field of linguistics. His role on "The Experience Team"
includes increasing the focus on more sophisticated learning interactions
that include the best practices in cognitive styles and brain-based
education.
With the collective expertise of "The Experience Team" now in full motion,
GlobalEnglish is poised to exceed its already unparallel service as the
preeminent provider of business English development solutions to Global
