LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwire - January 13, 2009) - Global Life Underwriting, LLC (GLU) has become a founding member of the International Society of Life Settlement Professionals and Howard Freedland, CEO of Global Life Underwriting, has become the Chair of the Education and Certification Committee. Global Life Underwriting is a provider of life expectancy reports used by investors to value life settlements. Mr. Freedland is the author of the monograph "Morbidity vs. Mortality" and a lecturer on life expectancy and the demographics of the senior population.

The International Society of Life Settlement Professionals was formed to promote increased investor confidence in life settlements as a rapidly growing asset class. ISLSP intends to launch a certification program for life settlement agents and brokers and a program for life settlement investors. ISLSP's industry members will develop and deploy a standards-based Dynamic Risk Assessment protocol. ISLSP offers investors educational support and investment training to assist them in correctly evaluating potential risks and hidden asset values.
