Fujitsu PRIMERGY Maintains Performance Benchmark Dominance
PRIMERGY TX300 S3 Sets World Record in Microsoft Exchange Benchmark Test
SUNNYVALE, CA--(Marketwire - June 26, 2007) - Fujitsu Computer Systems Corporation today announced that its PRIMERGY(R) TX300 S3 server set a world record in the Single Server category of the Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 MAPI Messaging Benchmark (MMB3), developed by Microsoft to compare the performance of server systems from various manufacturers. With a performance throughput of 13,552 users, the PRIMERGY TX300 S3 topped the rankings, serving 48 more users than the fastest competing server. For the complete ranking, visit the Microsoft Exchange MMB3 website.
The PRIMERGY TX300 S3, equipped with two Intel(R) Xeon(R) 5160 Dual-Core 3.0 GHz processors, 4GB of RAM and 4MB of L2 Cache, ran Microsoft Windows(R) 2003 Enterprise Edition. The benchmark test involves a defined user profile to measure throughput during an eight-hour workday, and the PRIMERGY TX300 S3 provisioned mail 8 percent faster than the HP ProLiant BL480C. Using comparable processor configurations and memory, the TX300 S3 handled 852 more users than the PowerEdge 2950 server from DELL and provisioned mail 30 percent faster.
Microsoft's Exchange MMB3 benchmark
The MAPI Messaging Benchmark (MMB3) was developed by Microsoft to enable a performance comparison of server systems across vendors using Microsoft Exchange Server 2003. Using the MMB3 user profile, the benchmark measures throughput during an eight-hour workday on the basis of a defined user profile that represents the mail traffic of a typical email user, and comprises everyday mail activities such as sending, searching, reading, forwarding, as well as scheduling or the use of distribution lists.
