Europe Overhauls Carbon-Emissions Trading Scheme, an Industrial Info News Alert

GALWAY, IRELAND--(Marketwire - July 15, 2010) -  Written by Martin Lynch, European News Editor for Industrial Info (Galway, Ireland) -- Energy companies now know how the stricter carbon-emissions trading market will look from 2013, following the release of details about the next phase of the European Union's Emissions Trading Scheme (ETS). This week, the EU and the European Commission (E.C.) released details about the new cap on emissions and agreed on a new carbon-auctioning system that will begin in 2013. Energy companies and other industrial companies will have to buy carbon allowances via auction, rather than obtaining them for free.
