Empirix's Solutions Tested at Second IMS Forum Plugfest
CHICAGO, IL--(Marketwire - June 19, 2007) - NXTCOMM BOOTH #7418 -- Empirix® Inc., which helps
organizations adopt complex communications solutions with confidence,
announced today from NXTcomm its
findings from the company's recent participation in the IMS
Forum®'s Second Plugfest event, which took place the week of June 4th
at the University of New Hampshire's Interoperability Lab (UNH-IOL).
Empirix was a Platinum sponsor of the event and provided its Hammer Testing
and Monitoring Portfolio to generate IMS calls, emulate IMS infrastructure,
and offer detailed diagnostics and analysis to assist other participants in
the Plugfest. As a result, Empirix found its solutions were able to quickly
identify interoperability issues and adapt to IMS standards and
implementations challenges.
Empirix was also able to demonstrate the power and flexibility of its IMS
SIP UE call/session generation and its P-CSCF and HSS device emulations in
a variety of different topologies.
The goal of this Plugfest was to examine the interoperability of IMS
applications and services to identify products and services for voice, fax,
IP PBX, Fixed-Mobile Convergence, SMS and video sharing across multiple
wireline, wireless and cable broadband networks.
"At the second Plugfest event, we built upon the interoperability we helped
achieve during the first Plugfest, and we're quite proud that Empirix was
also able to play a significant role in getting the majority of the new
test cases completed," said Gordon Beith, Senior Product Manager at
Empirix, and an active contributor to the IMS Forum. "Among the issues
identified, we found that ensuring the consistency of IMS implementation
across multiple vendors is a cornerstone of the IMS Plugfests. We're
committed to helping the IMS Forum test this and any other IMS adoption
barriers at the next Plugfest event and are looking forward to continuing
our active participation with the organization."
"We are pleased to have had Empirix both sponsor and participate again in
our Plugfest II," said Michael Khalilian, Chairman and President of the IMS
Forum. "The company has made a strong contribution to the testing and
de-bugging of IMS services and we look forward to working closely together
on future Plugfests."
