Eight Upper Peninsula Schools Seek to Become the First Project EverGREEN Schools in Michigan

BRIGHTON, MI--(Marketwire - April 21, 2009) - Clean Green Energy, "CGE," announced today that eight high school districts from Michigan's Upper Peninsula have signed long-term power purchase agreements for integrated renewable energy systems at their schools under the Project EverGREEN Schools™ program. They include Rapid River, Hancock, Houghton-Portage, Menominee, St. Ignace, Carney-Nadeau, Les Cheneaux, and Crystal Falls-Forest Park.

CGE will design and provide a comprehensive integrated system of alternative energy generation and efficiency applications including McKenzie Bay International's (PINKSHEETS: MKBY) WindStor® wind turbine. CGE will own, install, maintain & operate the system at the customer's facility and sell all electricity to the school's facility at or slightly below existing retail rates. Electricity prices remain fixed for a term of five years, with a price adjustment on every fifth anniversary.

Project EverGREEN Schools™ is the national education initiative of Partners GREEN (Group for a Renewable Energy Efficient Nation) (www.partnersgreen.org), a nonprofit organization. It is the gateway for information and resources on renewable energy, energy efficiency, environment, and climate literacy in the schools sector. The goal is to help provide a healthy, high-performing learning environment for our nation's students while creating a culture of responsible change in the design, construction, retrofitting, maintenance and operation of America's schools.
