Educational Institutions Get Smart With Sitecore's WCM Solution
Web Content Management Software Provides Missing Link to Build Online Brand Awareness and Increase Enrollments
SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwire - November 30, 2009) - Sitecore, the leading provider of .NET Web Content Management System (CMS) software, is working with several new educational institutions in an effort to help them reach key stakeholders through their online presence. Web Content Management System (CMS) software is a critical component for effectively promoting the schools' brand and unique assets, in a highly competitive market.
"With students going to the Internet as a first step in their high school or college search, it's important the website reflect the school's brand and unique attributes," said Paul Markun, VP Marketing, Sitecore. "By implementing Sitecore's Web CMS, educational institutions are effectively moving their image to the digital world and reaping the benefits of increased enrollments."
Working with Sitecore partners BigBad, Deenax, Evident Interactive and mStoner, Sitecore's customers in the educational sector including George School, College of Wooster, Drexel University, Hogeschool Utrecht International and Universität St.Gallen have recently implemented Sitecore's .NET Web CMS solution.
-- The mission of the George School website was to become a digital
touchstone and a communications hub for the entire school community.
Several months post-launch, website traffic had increased 72% and unique
visitors increased 42%. Admission inquiries for boarding applicants
increased 20%, and completed boarding applications increased 53% compared
to the previous four-year average. According to Ari Betof, Director of
Enrollment Management and Strategic Planning, George School, "We wanted a
website that would evoke the essence of George School within a technical
infrastructure that could grow and evolve with us over time. Our goal was
to develop a site that was simple to navigate yet enmeshed in a design
concept that was tactile and unusual." George School is the only
independent school, college, or university in the past three years to
receive a CASE Circle of Excellence Gold Award in the "Complete
Institutional Website" category. George School and its partner mStoner,
Inc. were also recognized with Web Marketing Association's 2009 School
Standard of Excellence Award.
-- Working with Sitecore partner, BigBad, the College of Wooster built a
new site that reflects the College's growing stature as the nation's
premier liberal arts college for mentored, undergraduate research. In
addition, the site includes social networking features that engage
students, faculty and alumni. "Our project team was inspired by Wooster's
willingness to let students craft their own, personal educational
experiences," said Jeff Johnson, Chief Creative Officer, BigBad.
"Ultimately, the strategy, design, functionality and user experience came
together to meet the College's goals and engage students."
-- The Hogeschool Utrecht/ University of Applied Sciences Utrecht is one
of the largest education colleges in the Netherlands. Working together with
Sitecore partner, Evident Interactive, Sitecore CMS was integrated with a
combination of Microsoft Virtual Earth and Silverlight, to create an
interactive map that allows site visitors and international students to
interactively experience Utrecht with a virtual tour. "We are especially
proud of our new international website," said Ingmar Volmer, Program
Marketing Manager, Hogeschool Utrecht. "Site visitors have increased and
the response has been overwhelmingly positive. Students visiting our site
are able to get a good understanding of the school, and our website has
become a very important marketing vehicle for us."
