Ecosphere Technologies Introduces EcosFrac System to Its Product Line for Natural Gas Exploration

STUART, FL--(Marketwire - April 6, 2009) - Ecosphere Technologies, Inc. (OTCBB: ESPH), a diversified water engineering and services company, announces today its EcosFrac Tank Processing System has been successfully field tested. The EcosFrac Tank is designed for the pre-treatment of water or brine fluids used to fracture natural gas wells while eliminating a significant amount of chemicals. The conventional method of creating frac fluid was to take pond water mixed with chemicals and other elements. The chemicals were added to eliminate aerobic and anaerobic bacteria from the dirty water. The problem was that the chemicals, besides being expensive, created problems down hole (including scaling and corrosion) that damaged well productivity. Ecosphere's innovative EcosFrac System renders a frac fluid solution that is clean and bacteria free, increasing well productivity while significantly reducing the use of expensive and caustic chemicals.
