Echo360 Appoints Steve Fitzgerald to New Role of Chief Technology Officer

Leader in Campus-Wide Lecture Capture Solutions Taps IT and Software Development Veteran to Drive Next Phase of Company's Technology Vision and Product Innovation


DULLES, VA--(Marketwire - September 28, 2010) -  Echo360, www.echo360.com, the recognized leader in campus-wide solutions that enable universities to record, manage and share rich media course content for lecture capture and distance learning, today announced that Steve Fitzgerald has joined its leadership team as Chief Technology Officer. In this newly formed position, Fitzgerald will lead all aspects of Echo360's technology strategy and platform architecture. He will oversee the company's software development and quality assurance teams, and will guide Echo360's next stage of product development as the company focuses on delivering enterprise-class solutions for higher education.

Fitzgerald brings more than 26 years of software and technology experience to Echo360. Prior to joining the company, Fitzgerald served as the Senior Vice President of Product Development for Razorsight Corporation where he managed a global team responsible for all product design, architecture, development, QA and software delivery along with all IT and cloud/SaaS operations.

Before joining Razorsight, Fitzgerald was Vice President of Software Development at SoftMed Systems, Inc. where he managed all aspects of software development, including product design, development and QA. SoftMed Systems was later acquired by 3M. Fitzgerald has also held senior-level technology positions at PDS, Inc. and Shared Medical Systems, Inc., which was acquired by Siemens. He holds a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration from Villanova University and also earned a Computer Science degree from the Maxwell Institute in Norristown, Pennsylvania.
