ESG Lab Report Validates Five Times Price-Performance Advantage of Coraid EtherDrive

Ethernet SAN Delivers Faster Performance Than Fibre Channel at 20 Percent the Cost and Shockingly Simple Management

REDWOOD CITY, CA--(Marketwire - August 9, 2010) -  Coraid® Inc., a leading developer of Ethernet SAN solutions with more than 1,200 customers worldwide, today announced the results of an ESG Lab report* validating the disruptive price-performance and simplicity of the EtherDrive® storage platform. Key findings of the report include:

  • Coraid's EtherDrive platform delivers higher performance than comparable Fibre Channel storage solutions, at approximately 20 percent of the cost

  • ESG Lab validated throughput performance of more than 1200 MB/sec per shelf on Coraid EtherDrive SRX-Series storage arrays

  • ESG Lab was able to configure, provision, and start using Coraid Ethernet SAN storage in less than two minutes from power on. In a VMware environment, storage was deployed and managed within the hypervisor without the need for a storage administrator to complete the task.

ESG Lab performed hands-on evaluation and testing of Coraid's EtherDrive SAN at Coraid's Redwood Shores, Calif. headquarters. Testing was designed to demonstrate the ease of installing and configuring an EtherDrive SAN as well as the cost-effective performance and capacity scalability of the platform.
