Donor Services of Indiana (DSI) Becomes Exclusive Distributor of Human Tissues for Bacterin International, Inc. and Bone Bank Allografts
FORT WAYNE, IN--(Marketwire - December 19, 2008) - Donor Services of Indiana (DSI) has signed
an exclusive distribution agreement with Bacterin International, Inc. and
Bone Bank, Inc. to distribute allograft tissues in Indiana. Both
organizations are registered with the FDA and accredited by the American
Association of Tissue Banks (AATB) for processing human allograft tissues.
"These agreements will allow us to better serve the general
orthopedic/trauma, spinal, and sports medicine markets and introduce
emerging tissues to our partner hospitals and surgical centers," said
Jeffrey Schmidt, Director of Marketing and Hospital Development for DSI.
DSI, formally Indiana Cardiac Retrieval, was started in 1991 to provide
procurement services and allograft tissue distribution to hospitals in
Indiana. "We recognized since our inception that tissues procured from
donors in Indiana should come back to our local community to be implanted,"
said Terri Tibbot, CEO of DSI.
DSI is registered with the FDA and AATB for retrieval, storage and
distribution of skin, nerves, cord blood, cardiac and musculoskeletal
tissue for transplantation and research; retrieval, storage and
distribution of vascular tissue for transplantation; and storage of
autologous tissue.
