Défi Corporatif Canderel: For Cancer Research, 13 Means
Good Luck

MONTREAL, QUEBEC--The Defi Corporatif Canderel, a fundraising fun
run through the streets of downtown Montreal, launched its 13th
edition on February 13th with its traditional Early Bird
Registration contest. Again this year, companies which register a
team of runners prior to March 1st will get the chance to win
exciting prizes - at great odds.

Indeed, over the years, the Defi has been generous in handing out
great prizes to those who, in return, show tremendous generosity
towards those who fight to find a cure for cancer. In the spirit
of greater rewards for greater efforts, the Defi will give
participating companies greater chances to win prizes this year by
increasing the number of prizes to be won in the categories of
best costume and most funds raised.

Created in 1989 as a means to emphasize the "fun" in fundraising
while allowing corporate Montreal to unite in a show of
philanthropic solidarity, the Defi Corporatif Canderel has seen
its success and popularity grow exponentially year after year - to
the gratitude of its beneficiaries, the McGill Cancer Centre and
the Institut du cancer de Montreal, affiliated with the Universite
de Montreal. In 12 years, the Defi has raised close to four
million dollars for its two beneficiaries, whose mission is to
find a cure for cancer. This year more than ever, funds are needed
for very specific purposes, as each center is planning the
building of much-needed research space and recruiting new, highly
qualified researchers.

And again this year, success is ensured, thanks partially to the
renewed support of a spokesteam of stars comprised of some of our
most famous and world-renowned athletes, led by Jean-Luc Brassard,
Gaetan Boucher, Alexandre Despatie and Mark Tewksbury. Year after
year, these symbols of reward through perseverance renew their
support for the Defi, which celebrates the perseverance of
researchers in oncology. Friday, May 3rd promises to be even more
animated and colorful in downtown Montreal, as over 1,000 runners
will take to the streets in creative costumes and enthusiastically
express their support for a good cause for all to see. For all who
participate or donate, the 13th edition of the Defi will be a
lucky one!
