Tickets for the concert by Cook -- the latest "American Idol" winner and a Kansas City native -- have been a hot commodity from the moment they went on sale Feb. 9. Available only through the Ameristar Casino Hotel Kansas City Box Office and Tickets.com, all tickets sold out in six minutes.

After an individual approached Ameristar when he did not receive tickets he purchased through a craigslist vendor, Ameristar learned that some tickets also have been offered for sale on ticket resale web sites for seats that do not exist in the pavilion. Ameristar also has some concerns about tickets that may have been offered for sale before the Feb. 9 public "on sale" date, when legitimate tickets first became available.

"Ameristar Casino Hotel Kansas City is very proud to be hosting the first area concert to-date by Mr. Cook since he won 'American Idol' and we want as many guests as possible to enjoy this event," said Ameristar Casino Hotel General Manager Chet Koch. "We have anecdotal evidence that some fraudulent tickets have been offered for sale. We have no way of knowing how many of these tickets may have been purchased, but we don't want even one guest to be surprised and disappointed on concert night if he or she discovers a ticket isn't legitimate."
