DFMSim Names Veteran Electronics Executive, Jim Healy as Executive Chairman

PALO ALTO, CA--(Marketwire - February 8, 2011) - DFMSim today announced that it has appointed James T. Healy (Jim) to serve as Executive Chairman of the company's Board of Directors. A veteran electronics industry executive, Healy has spent much of his career building success for US-based and international companies in the semiconductor space. He joins a Board that also includes: DFMSim CEO, Anantha Sethuraman; Raj K. Raheja, Founder of DFMSim; Stephen T. McGrath, CEO of Spencer Trask Emerging Technologies Group; Amiel M. Kornel, senior managing director of Spencer Trask Emerging Technologies Group; and Tom Caulfield, CEO of Caitin, Inc.

"Jim brings substantial value to DFMSim at an important time for our company," said CEO Sethuraman. "In the last 12 months, demand for our SMART (Simulation of Manufacturing and Analysis in Real Time) products from major semiconductor supply-chain players has grown. Our tools give them an important new capability to predict, measure and control yield-limiting defects while manufacturing advanced devices. Jim's expertise augments our capabilities and will help us build out our product line and expand our customer base. We're delighted to welcome him on board."

Healy commented, "DFMSim has all the right ingredients for a high-growth start-up: Great technology that solves real problems and a smart team with a pragmatic execution plan. As semiconductor manufacturing becomes more complex and costly, predicting and preventing defects is more imperative than ever. Not surprisingly, DFMSim's suite of manufacturing software tools are proving their worth in the field by facilitating intelligent, real-time analysis of critical metrology data that drives quick action to improve yield. I'm excited to be involved with the company. It's the right technology at the right time."

Currently, Healy is general manager of Sony LSI Design, Inc., a provider of turnkey services for semiconductor design, fabrication, assembly and test. In addition, he is founder and president of Healy & Associates, a firm that specializes in product positioning and business development services. He serves on the advisory boards of Atrenta and an alternative energy start-up.

Before his current roles, Healy was president and CEO of LogicVision, Inc. which was sold to Mentor Graphics Corp, in 2009. Prior to LogicVision, he held senior executive positions at companies that included: Spirox USA, a subsidiary of Spirox Taiwan, ASAT USA, a subsidiary of a Hong Kong-based firm, FormFactor, Genus Corp., Credence Systems, LTX Corp., GenRad Semiconductor Test, Inc., and Trillium Corp.

In 2001, Healy received the Semiconductor Industry Association's prestigious Bob Graham Award. He served four years on the Semiconductor Technical Advisory Committee of the Department of Commerce.

Healy has a Bachelor's degree and a Master's of Science degree from California State University East Bay. A published author, his books include "Automatic Testing and Evaluation of Digital Integrated Circuits" and "Winning the High Tech Sales Game."
