CrowdStar Adds Niren Hiro as Chief Executive Officer
Former Media Industry and AdMob Executive to Drive Facebook Social Games Leader CrowdStar Through Exponential Growth and Global Expansion
DUBLIN, IRELAND and BURLINGAME, CA--(Marketwire - May 17, 2010) - CrowdStar, the creator of popular mass market social games including category leader Happy Aquarium, today announced that Mr. Niren Hiro, a former executive at AdMob Inc., has joined the company as Chief Executive Officer.
Hiro joins CrowdStar as the company's popular Facebook games approach a player base of 50 million players per month. During the first half of 2010, CrowdStar also launched its flagship game Happy Aquarium in the high growth, hyper-competitive Japanese gaming and virtual goods market, and the title is growing rapidly on the Japanese social network Mixi, across both the PC and advanced mobile phone platforms.

Hiro has 20 years of international experience at top Internet, mobile and media companies including Yahoo!, CBS Sportsline, MTV Networks, Plus Channel, and BPL Mobile. Prior to CrowdStar, Hiro joined AdMob in 2006 as Vice President of Worldwide Business Development, and built and led the team responsible for AdMob's strategic partnerships and traffic acquisition in North America and worldwide, as well as the company's business expansion into Asia Pacific, Latin America, and Africa. Hiro has deep entrepreneurial roots. When he was 21, he founded a highly successful processed foods company in Japan, where he was born and raised, and today he is an angel investor in several promising startups.
