PORTLAND, OR--(Marketwire - July 29, 2008) - For the second year in a row, Con-way won the top two awards -- the Golden Shovel and the People's Choice Award -- at Yoshida's Sand in the City event, a fund-raising event for Kids on the Block. With its sculpture titled "Asparagus Now," Con-way and its architect partner Yost Grube Hall bested 16 other teams to take the top honors.

Con-way employees also succeeded in raising more than $1,500 for Kids on the Block, a national organization that educates children about disabilities, social concerns, and educational and medical differences. With a $500 match from Con-way, the total donation to Kids on the Block was more than $2,000!
