Companies West Group Inc. Enters Into Joint Venture Agreement With Ingeominas on Santander, Columbia Coal Project

DENVER, CO--(Marketwire - January 13, 2009) - Companies West Group Inc. (OTCBB: COWS) (FRANKFURT: A38) has entered into a joint venture agreement with Ingeominas (Instituto Nacional de Minas de Colombia) to begin work on the Santander Coal Project.

The Project is located in the Country of Colombia, Department of Santander, surrounded by several municipalities such as Cimitarra, Landázuri, Simacota and SucreVélez. Companies West Group will begin by completing a feasibility study to confirm the possible development of the project in terms of exploration, operation and commercialization of the mine. Once the study is complete and produces favorable results, the company would proceed to commence development of the Santander property and operation of the mine itself.

The 24-hectare area is connected to Bogotá DC through the Core of Magdalena. There are several other companies in the area such as Coal Corp, Rio Tinto, Centromin, Rio Doce, executing explorations and production. Results gathered from the preliminary study performed by Ingeominas estimates 125,000,000 tons of probable reserves with the average daily production currently at approximately 1,000 tons. This investment in natural resources will integrate with the companies' green energy, alternative fuel projects.
