Channel Master Introduces a New Line of MoCA Products

PHOENIX, AZ--(Marketwire - January 6, 2011) - Channel Master, one of the nation's leading consumer electronics manufacturers, announced today a new line of MoCA (Multimedia over Coax) products to be marketed and sold through their extensive customer base of CE distributors, retailers, and major service providers. MoCA can turn the coaxial cable already installed in your house into a robust, high speed whole home entertainment network. With MoCA enabled devices and Channel Masters MoCA Adapters, you can experience multi-room DVR, superior on-line gaming, seamless delivery of video content from the Internet, easy PC to TV content sharing, multi-room gaming, Wi-Fi extension, place shifting and more.

Channel Master will also put a new consumer spin on the MoCA products, marketing them as Internet-to-TV Adapters. Their initial offering will be a kit that includes two Internet-to-TV Adapters (MoCA Adapters). This kit will allow the consumer to easily install one adapter that will interface with the Ethernet network and the home coax network. The other Adapter can be installed at any point in the coax network and will interface with an Ethernet equipped device. Channel Master will follow up this product with a MoCA 4-Port Bridge that will allow the consumer to connect multiple Ethernet devices in a single location without the need for switches or additional components.

"This new product line is right up our alley; Channel Master and our parent company PCT International have many years of experience manufacturing and marketing RF products that interface with coaxial cable. There are more and more retail consumer electronic devices that now have Internet or network capabilities, but it remains a burden for the consumer to get the connection to the television. Most homes are not prewired with Ethernet cable and wireless is just not a viable option because of the reliability and potential for interference. MoCA is the most reliable and proven solution and has already been deployed by many of the major service providers in the US. While MoCA technology is well known throughout the service provider industry, most consumers are still unaware that this technology is available. We plan to get creative with our marketing and educate the consumer about the technology and how it can be used in the home," said Joe Bingochea, Channel Masters' VP of Marketing and Product Management.

Although there are MoCA solutions available on the market today, Channel Master plans to take a strategic marketing approach on their new MoCA adapters that will help them reach thousands of consumers trying to solve a problem connecting new devices to the Internet. Channel Master announced that products should be on the retail shelf by the end of March. Current retail partners include Fry's Electronics, Ace Hardware, True Value, Crutchfield, Walmart.com, CircuitCity.com, CompUSA.com and more.
