TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Nov. 22, 2010) - The Canadian Youth Business Foundation (CYBF) announced today the winners in the Best Business Award categories for the 2010 CYBF Chairman's Awards program.
"The CYBF Chairman's Awards were created to celebrate excellence in youth entrepreneurship across Canada and to recognize that these start-ups are the driving force behind Canada's economic growth and prosperity," says Vivian Prokop, chief executive officer, CYBF. "From an innovative energy intelligence system that reduces CO2 emissions to a green manufacturer of non-toxic bioplastics, these winning businesses are prime examples of how CYBF's bright young entrepreneurs are building a better tomorrow while inspiring other young people to become the next generation of business leaders. Congratulations to them all!"
The award winners will each receive a prize package valued at more than $5,000 which includes national profiling through the media, social media and advertising.
Additionally, the five businesses will compete for the grand prize, the CYBF National Best Business Award, at the CYBF Chairman's Awards celebration scheduled to take place in Spring of 2011. The National Best Business Award winner will receive a prize package valued at more than $25,000, which includes a cash prize of $20,000. The winner will also receive an all-expense paid trip to France to participate as an official Canadian delegate at the 2011 G20 Young Entrepreneur Summit and will have the opportunity to network with 400 bright young entrepreneurs from the G20 nations. The cash prize portion of both awards packages is privately funded by an anonymous third party.
"A hearty congratulations to all of this year's applicants for their significant contributions to the business communities in which they operate, as well as to the greater Canadian economy," says Ms. Prokop. "All of CYBF's entrepreneurs are outstanding representatives of the calibre of young entrepreneurs in our country."
