CAA Updates 2008 Driving Costs Brochure to Reflect High Gas Prices
OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - July 23, 2008) - With summer's busy driving season in full swing and due to increasing demand for numbers that reflect current gas prices, CAA has released an updated version of its 2008 Driving Costs brochure, available at www.caa.ca.
A comprehensive look at the total cost of personal vehicle ownership in Canada, Driving Costs is a perennial favorite among both CAA members and the general public from coast to coast. Once again, CAA has teamed up with Runzheimer International to capture the average cost of private vehicle ownership of a mid-size car and a minivan in Canada.
"CAA has responded to consumer demand and updated our 2008 Driving Costs brochure with figures representative of current gas prices - it is our hope that this information will be helpful to Canadians during this busy driving season, said CAA President, Tim Shearman. "This has proven to be a popular and well-used tool for our 5.2 million members, particularly with the high price of gas this summer".
Driving Costs is designed to help motorists determine operating costs whether going on vacation, considering the purchase of a new vehicle, or adding an additional vehicle to help juggle a family's busy lifestyle. The calculations are based on fuel consumption; maintenance, such as oil and tires; vehicle depreciation; insurance; and a number of other factors.
