CFC (Canadian Film Centre) is pleased to announce its participation in the Vancouver 2010 Cultural Olympiad's digital edition (CODE), part of a landmark celebration that explores digital creativity. With curatorial participation by CFC Media Lab, CODE Live brings together artists from the digital media and interactive fields to present 21st century visions to 2010 Winter Games audiences.
As a key partner in CODE Live, the CFC Media Lab co-curated and produced the Eco-Art programming stream, which features projects produced from the CFC Media Lab's world-renowned Interactive Art & Entertainment Program (IAEP). CfC Media Lab alumni work is also featured in other program areas of CODE Live. The CFC Media Lab is Canada's acclaimed institute for digital media that provides a unique training, research and production think-tank environment for emerging new media artists, content developers and practitioners.
CODE, the Cultural Olympiad's digital edition represents the first time an Olympics arts festival has extended to the on-line world. CODE is a suite of programs that extends the celebration of Canadian culture and talent into the digital sphere where audiences and artists can interact and take part. Taking place contemporaneously with the 2010 Olympic Winter Games, CODE Live is an 18-day, event with visual art exhibitions, music and performances fuelled by digital technology and audience involvement. It begins February 4 and runs through February 21.
