SUNNYVALE, CA--(Marketwire - Nov 11, 2011) - C2Call, the pioneer for Java-based VoIP calls via the browser, today announced the availability of its latest version of FriendCaller for Android™. The browser-based VoIP solution now features echo-free video calling via any Android-based smart phone or tablet, or via the FriendCaller Web phone.
"FriendCaller now provides Android users with greater flexibility and functionality by supporting video calling for Android-based smart phones and tablets," said Martin Feuerhahn, CEO of FriendCaller developer C2Call GmbH. "The introduction of video calling for Android is yet another example of how we are continuing to revolutionize Voice over IP communications, making it easier for our rapidly growing user-base to communicate with their friends across town, or around the globe, via the Internet."
New features of the latest version of FriendCaller include:
- Availability on more than 650 different devices and all popular desktop browsers
- An enhanced user interface
- The ability to earn free minutes that can be used to dial U.S. and international phone numbers by watching short video clips from FriendCaller sponsors
"FriendCaller is built on a unique cross-platform technology that supports video calls via our standard browser-based Webphone and Facebook app, on Android-based smart phones and tablets, and also on all iOS devices including the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad," continued Feuerhahn. "One of the key advantages of our technology is the ability to adopt video resolution to available bandwidth. Through this fully automatic process, we are able to dynamically adjust the resolution for the best user experience."
With FriendCaller, users are also able to connect via the Web with friends who do not have an Android or iOS-based phone or tablet by sending them a FriendCaller CallMe-Link technology. This unique URL link can be sent to anyone, even if they are not a registered FriendCaller user. When the recipient of the CallMe-Link clicks on it, they will be able to instantly call the sender, via their browser.
FriendCaller for Android with Video calling is currently available. Video calling via FriendCaller is also available for iPhone®, iPod touch®, iPad™, as well as via FriendCaller's WebPhone and Facebook app.
