Media Advisory: Official Opening of The Birches at Esopus Senior Living Community
Affordable Senior Housing, Green News, Real Estate and Construction, and Lifestyle Story Opportunities
ESOPUS, NY--(Marketwire - August 31, 2009) -
What: Representative Maurice D. Hinchey, federal, state and local
officials join to "launch" an innovative affordable senior housing
community that looks and feels like a luxury hotel, complete with
Hudson River views.
Why: The announcement of freezing cost-of-living adjustments for Social
Security payments, along with rising Medicare drug premiums, have
left many seniors worried over how they will afford food,
medication and decent housing. A model solution to the critical
need for affordable senior housing, The Birches at Esopus, an
80-unit state-of-the-art senior housing community, was developed
by Birchez Associates LLC, a regional leader in senior and
workforce housing.
Local, state and federal bank and housing officials and the
developer will discuss how, even during challenging economic
times, these communities can be built with a combination of public
and private funding. Birchez Associates is bringing quality
solutions to affordable housing and making a real difference in
the lives of seniors. Residents will be available for tours of the
facility and to discuss the benefits of "aging in place" and how
the facility adds to their overall health and quality of life.
