Free Thanksgiving Turkey on Saturday for First 100 People to Donate
WINNIPEG, MANITOBA--(Marketwire - Oct. 7, 2009) - On Saturday, October 10, 2009, the public is invited to donate a "tin for the bin" to BFI Canada Winnipeg in support of Winnipeg Harvest, a non-profit food bank. BFI Canada Winnipeg will match all food donations pound for pound. It will also give the first 100 people to donate at least two food items a free Thanksgiving turkey. BFI Canada Winnipeg is proud to help meet this need in our community at such a critical time.
Winnipeg Harvest provides emergency food to 40,000 people each month. Supplies of high protein items such as canned fish and baked beans are particularly needed as the winter months approach. Monetary donations will also be accepted by Winnipeg Harvest at the site.
