RESTON, VA--(Marketwire - August 25, 2008) - Axiom Software, Inc. announced that its Axiom Stack application server and framework is now available with an Open Source GNU Affero General Public License (AGPL). Axiom Stack is a rapid development framework and server used to build dynamic Web applications using server-side ECMAScript (JavaScript). Axiom Stack, developed as a fork of the Helma open source JavaScript framework, uses Object Oriented Programming (OOP) and includes a transactional and transparent searchable Lucene data store, which means it does not require database setup. Axiom Stack is platform independent, needing only the Java Virtual Machine (JVM) to run on any server.

Axiom Stack has been available under a free for personal use license and demand has led to the decision to open the source code. Driving Web-based applications and websites since early 2007, the Axiom Stack has been successfully deployed with clients like AOL, PBS and K12, Inc. and applications like Axiom CMS and Axiom Searchable Radio.

The Axiom Debugger, licensed under the GNU General Public License (GPL), is a completely Web-based debugging application built within the Axiom Inspector. Axiom Debugger lets you visually traverse your application's object tree, examine local and global scope, and add, edit or delete existing objects. You can set breakpoints and step through code to find and solve issues quickly. Also, the Axiom Debugger includes a Javascript interpreter to execute code in your application's environment.
