Fueled By Ramen Celebrates the Summer With Incredible Slate of New Releases; Highlights Include Upcoming Albums From Paramore, Cobra Starship, and The Swellers, Plus Hotly Anticipated "Jennifer's Body" Soundtrack

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - July 6, 2009) - Fueled By Ramen Records is heating things up this summer with a number of sensational new releases. The schedule displays the venerable label's remarkable range, spanning debut releases, popular breakthroughs, creative collaborations, and the hotly anticipated return of Grammy Award-nominated band Paramore.

"2009 has been an incredible year for Fueled By Ramen, and all our amazing artists," says FBR president, CEO, and co-founder John Janick. "This year showcased what this label does best, both in terms of developing new bands as well as putting together some of the year's biggest releases. I can safely say to our many friends and fans that the rest of 2009 will be even more extraordinary."

The fun begins in August with the release of Decaydance/Fueled By Ramen recording group Cobra Starship's eagerly awaited third album, "HOT MESS." Set to arrive on August 11th, the album is highlighted by the current hit single, "Good Girls Go Bad (Feat. Leighton Meester)," which has exploded into the top 40 at CHR/Pop radio outlets across the country. The track -- produced by Kevin Rudolf (Lil' Wayne, Justin Timberlake, Kanye West) and co-written by Cobra Starship, "American Idol's" Kara DioGuardi (Kelly Clarkson, Kylie Minogue, Pink), and Kevin Rudolf -- has just been added at two of America's most influential outlets, New York's Z100 and Los Angeles' KIIS-FM.

A companion video for "Good Girls Go Bad" -- featuring a co-starring performance from Meester, known far and wide for her role as "Blair Waldorf" on The CW's blockbuster series, "Gossip Girl" -- will have its world television premiere this week on MTV. In addition, the clip -- directed by photographer/filmmaker Kai Regan (The Virgins, CocoRosie) -- has already been added into rotation at MTV2, MTV HITS, and mtvU.

Acclaimed for their idiosyncratic blending of eclectic party anthems and witty cultural critique, Cobra Starship has been among the hardest touring bands in recent memory. Having just finished a supporting role on Fall Out Boy's "Believers Never Die Tour Part Deux," the New York-based band will hit the road once more upon the release of "HOT MESS." Full tour details will be announced shortly.

Also slated for August is "JENNIFER'S BODY: ORIGINAL MOTION PICTURE SOUNDTRACK," Fueled By Ramen's musical companion to the upcoming Fox Thriller. The collection -- due in stores on August 25th (with preorders beginning on http://store.fueledbyramen.com on July 28th) -- features new and unreleased tracks from an array of top FBR artists, including Panic At The Disco and Cobra Starship, as well as such hotly buzzed new acts as All Time Low and Little Boots.

One of the year's most anticipated new films, "Jennifer's Body" stars Megan Fox ("Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen"), Amanda Seyfried ("Mamma Mia," "Veronica Mars"), and Adam Brody ("The OC"). Directed by award-winning filmmaker Karyn Kusama and written by Academy Award-winner Diablo Cody ("Juno"), "Jennifer's Body" arrives in theaters on September 18th.

September will see the year's most eagerly awaited Fueled By Ramen release, "brand new eyes," the third album from Paramore. Produced by Grammy Award-winner Rob Cavallo (Green Day, Kid Rock, My Chemical Romance) and co-produced by the band, the album is the follow-up to 2007's RIAA platinum certified breakthrough, "RIOT!"

Due in stores on September 29th, "brand new eyes" is unquestionably Paramore's best and brightest album to date, fit to burst with all the exuberant melodies, breathless hooks, and irrepressible energy that has made the Nashville-based band one of the most popular rock outfits in recent memory.

"brand new eyes" will be preceded by the first single, "Ignorance," slated to hit Alternative Rock outlets nationwide in early July. A digital single will be available via all DSPs on July 7th. A companion video for "Ignorance" is now in pre-production and will premiere in August.

Paramore -- currently introducing fans to some of their new material as the main support act on No Doubt's eagerly awaited reunion tour -- are also set to star in their own edition of "MTV Unplugged." The band filmed the acoustic performance at a New York City studio earlier this month, with an airdate currently planned for mid-September (check local listings).

Needless to say, Fueled By Ramen also remains focused on discovering and developing the best new bands in the world. Scheduled for Fall release is the Fueled By Ramen debut album from The Swellers, a Flint, Michigan-based outfit acclaimed for its merging of melodic hooks and hard edged punk power.

FBR will first introduce The Swellers to the waiting world with a limited edition 7" single, to be released in conjunction with Paper + Plastick, the new label from FBR co-founder (and Less Than Jake drummer) Vinnie Fiorello. Available in late July via www.fueledbyramen.com and www.paperandplastick.com, the single features two new tracks: "Welcome Back Riders," which will also be included on the band's upcoming full-length release, and an exclusive b-side with Bret Hart-inspired title "Montreal Screwjob."

"The Swellers are a terrific young band," says Janick, "with all of the excitement and energy that inspired us to first start up Fueled By Ramen. I'm so happy to be working with Vinnie again and his new label, Paper + Plastick."

"When I sat in a packed club in my hometown, I knew The Swellers would catch on," says Vinnie Fiorello. "Where there's smoke there is fire, right? Playing shows later on with them, then hearing the demos go from ideas to sharp songs, I followed my friends on their ride as a spectator and as a fan. I feel privileged to be releasing their 7" on my new label Paper and Plastick and it feels like the ride has gone a complete 360 degrees, once again partnering with FBR, the label in which I was co-founder/co-owner. It proves that some people are still paying attention to hard work and hooks."

Like so many of their fellow Fueled By Ramen artists, The Swellers have proven themselves to be an aggressive and hard-working live act. The band has been on the road nearly non-stop over the last three years, gaining fans and support from other bands with their reactive music and tireless work ethic. Before signing to Fueled By Ramen they were able to cover all of the United States, Eastern Canada and Japan, and tour with the likes of Less Than Jake, Streetlight Manifesto, A Wilhelm Scream, and The A.K.A.s, among others. Currently traveling the country alongside Living With Lions, The Swellers will then embark on a major July trek with Set Your Goals and Four Year Strong. Future itineraries surrounding the band's FBR debut album will be revealed shortly.
