Appalachian Judicial Circuit of Georgia Selects Metatomix for Integrated Justice Data Sharing

Metatomix's Integrated Justice Solutions Will Streamline Information Sharing Among Three Georgia County Judicial and Law Enforcement Agencies

DEDHAM, MA--(Marketwire - May 11, 2010) -  Metatomix, Inc., a leading provider of semantic solutions to justice and public safety, manufacturing, financial services and life sciences organizations, today announced that the Appalachian Judicial Circuit, located in northwest Georgia and consisting of Gilmer, Pickens and Fannin Counties, will implement Metatomix's mtx Judicial Data Exchange (JDX) solution as the foundation of the county's Criminal Justice Information Sharing project.

Using funding grants from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA), the circuit will begin implementing the technology immediately and expects the project to be completed within 18 months. Metatomix's solutions will allow 23 local law enforcement agencies and courts to share pertinent information seamlessly by simplifying current processes, facilitating data movement and governing data access. As a result, the county expects to systematically improve the operational efficiency of the existing criminal justice systems by streamlining information and data entry.

Appalachian Circuit's selection of Metatomix increases the company's presence by 30 percent in the state of Georgia, expanding the 10 existing counties to 13 in the past four years.

"Metatomix was the clear choice for this project based on their record of success and cost-effectiveness," said Chief Superior Court Judge Brenda Weaver.

"We've seen Metatomix repeatedly deliver results on information sharing projects in Georgia counties," added District Attorney Joe Hendricks. "This proven provider, combined with funding grants from the ARRA Economic Stimulus Bill, creates a win for every taxpayer in our Circuit."

"We are delighted for the opportunity to partner with the Appalachian Circuit counties who are committed to providing efficient, cost-effective justice data sharing solutions," said Metatomix President and CEO Jeff Dickerson. "Metatomix offers an ideal framework to address the complex challenges of comprehensive judicial data management for forward-looking institutions like Appalachian Circuit's counties."

Metatomix's JDX enables real-time, bi-directional, cross-agency information sharing without forcing local agencies to lose control of their data. The solution conforms to NIEM and GJXDM national standards. Metatomix's JDX and other offerings are available through state contracts in Georgia and other states.
