Analog Analytics Powers Columbia Daily Tribune Daily Deal to Raise United Way Donations for Joplin Tornado Victims

COLUMBIA, MO and SAN DIEGO, CA--(Marketwire - Jun 6, 2011) - Analog Analytics, the leading provider of the Bigger Better Deal™ solution for local media companies and advertisers, powered a daily deal sponsored by the Columbia (Mo.) Daily Tribune and the Heart of Missouri United Way to raise donations for relief efforts in Joplin, Missouri. This unique Daily Deal provided readers the chance to easily donate $10 to help tornado victims, with 100 percent of donations going to the charity.

"We believe that in times like this we have to support each other in whatever way we can, and our readers are used to participating in the Columbia Daily Deal. We are using this approach to generate donations for the Heart of Missouri United Way," explained Andy Waters, general manager of the Columbia Daily Tribune. "We want to encourage our readers to be as generous as they can to help the thousands of Joplin residents who are now suffering so much."

In an ordinary daily deal scenario, a consumer pays a discounted price immediately for goods or services to be provided in the future. The deal funds are split between the advertiser and the publication with a small portion going to Analog Analytics as well as the standard fee paid for credit card processing. For this donation "deal" the United Way received all of the revenue, except for the standard credit card processing fee.

The donation deal was also being shared among publishers and broadcasters in Analog Analytics' syndication network. Other sites which hosted the United Way deal included: amNewYork; Shelby County News; ten LA News Group (LANG) papers; and the Morgan Murphy publications in Spokane, WA and Madison, WI.

"We are proud to be powering this Daily Deal to help generate donations for tornado victims," said Ken Kalb, CEO, Analog Analytics. "This is a new way to generate donations for charitable causes. In this case the Heart of Missouri United Way is the beneficiary and will receive all of the donations that come in. We are also syndicating this deal through our network of publishers and broadcasters to help maximize exposure and raise more funds."
