WALTHAM, MA--(Marketwire - January 13, 2009) - Accounting Management Solutions, Inc. (AMS), a leading provider of accounting, financial management, and consulting services to private, public, and nonprofit organizations, today announced the appointment of two business development directors.

Ian Carver, who has more than 20 years of business development experience, will lead business development in the technology sector for the AMS Business Solutions practice.

Patrick Kavey, a former regional vice president for Fidelity Investments, was named business development director for the education market within the AMS Nonprofit Solutions practice.

"Ian and Pat bring a new level of talent and understanding of how emerging and established organizations can best use outside professional service providers to help them achieve their business goals cost effectively. We're delighted that they have joined our team," said AMS President Jim Bourdon.

Before joining AMS, Carver most recently served as Boston regional manager for DLA Piper LLP, one of the world's largest legal service providers, where he worked with emerging companies and investors. Earlier, he was executive director of PricewaterhouseCooper LLP's Entrepreneurial Services Center, where he consulted with early stage technology and life sciences companies on a host of start-up, business development, and funding issues. Carver earned a B.A. degree from Saint Lawrence University and an MBA from Duke University's Fuqua School of Business.

Kavey most recently was vice president of business development for GW + Wade, an independent, fee-based financial advisory firm, where he was responsible for the firm's business development activities. Previously, he served as regional vice president for Fidelity Investments Charitable Services, working closely with CPAs, lawyers, investment advisors, and financial planners. He also served as a vice president for BNY Mellon Wealth Management. Kavey earned B.S. and M.S. degrees from Boston College and an M.S. in taxation from Northeastern University.
