Tips: Fixing Credit Report

Request a copy of your credit report from a credit bureau. If there is an error, write to the bureau and ask them to fix the mistake. It will help to contact the creditor who reported the error. Some creditors will contact the bureau on your behalf. If the bureau says the creditors have verified information you think is incorrect, you will need to contact the creditors directly to argue your case. If you succeed, make sure you get a letter from the creditor acknowledging the error.
