Media Advisory: Special Olympics Day in Ottawa to be celebrated Oct. 30

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Oct. 29, 2009) - In conjunction with the 40th anniversary of Special Olympics in Canada, Friday, Oct. 30, has been designated Special Olympics Day in Ottawa by Special Olympics Ontario. As part of the celebration, Special Olympics Ontario is scheduled to announce the creation of the new Physical Activity Healthy Living (PAHL) project at Bell High School in Nepean, Ont. Danielle Robinson, president of the Sens Foundation, will make a donation on behalf of the organization by presenting a cheque to Special Olympics Ontario in support of the PAHL in the Ottawa region.

Frank Hayden, founder of the Special Olympics, and Glenn MacDonell, president and CEO of Special Olympics Ontario, will unveil details about the project. The Sens Foundation is a long-time supporter of Special Olympics Ontario and has donated more than $175,000 to the organization over the last seven years.
