Telematch Debuts Data Matching Product That Locates 97+ Million Hard-to-Find Americans

SmartMatch(TM) Taps Public and Proprietary Sources to Identify Households With Wireless, Cable and VoIP Telephony With Current Postal Address

SPRINGFIELD, VA--(Marketwire - October 13, 2008) - Telematch, a privately held, leading provider of information services, announced today commercial availability of SmartMatch™, a data product that identifies wireless, cable and voice-over Internet protocol households along with their current postal addresses within the United States -- contact data that otherwise would be difficult or impossible to find, according to the company.

"Marketers -- particularly those who are dependent on keeping current with customer contact information to help produce returns on their customer relationship management programs -- will enjoy what SmartMatch™ can deliver," said Peg Kuman, Chief Executive Officer, Telematch. "Millions of consumers and businesses are migrating away from traditional land-based phone lines -- and, as a result, an important source of current telephone and postal address information is disappearing."

"Both business-to-business and consumer marketers have struggled to replenish missing contact data for their prospects and customers -- turning to compiled data and self-reported information to fill in the gaps with limited success," Kuman said. "Current compiled data sources lack the recency and as a result, accuracy and coverage. Self-reported data often are prone to data-entry errors, and individuals don't always provide correct information."

According to Kuman, SmartMatch™ uses responsible proprietary and public sources, primarily from telephone companies, to recover those households and businesses enabling marketers to flag and verify individual prospects and customers and to append their databases, accordingly. "Suddenly, more than 97 million consumers have been re-found -- with tens of thousands more being added to SmartMatch™ every month," she said.

According to the Federal Communications Commission, the total number of land lines in the United States is decreasing 5% per year, while wireless and broadband telephony is growing by 12% and 40%, respectively. While wireless numbers may not be contacted for outbound telemarketing purposes without prior "opt-in" permission, such data may be used for identity verification and reverse postal address appends -- both important processes in today's customer-centric marketplace, Kuman said.
