Final Steel Beam Placed at Foothill Oaks Casino

Marks Major Milestone for Shingle Springs Band of Miwok Indians


PLACERVILLE, CA--(Marketwire - February 28, 2008) - The Shingle Springs Band of Miwok Indians announced that the final steel beam was placed for the Foothill Oaks Casino on Tuesday, February 26 at approximately 3:45 p.m.

"This is a dream long in the making for the Tribe," said Nicholas H. Fonseca, Tribal Chairman, Shingle Springs Band of Miwok Indians. "Now, with the final steel beam in place, the dream is becoming reality for us."

Approximately 200 Tribal Members attended a ceremony that featured remarks by Nick Fonseca and a performance by Tribal Dancers. Commemorative photos were taken of Tribal Members as they signed the beam before it was placed by the casino's general contractor, Rudolph and Sletten. Additionally, Tim Cope, president and CFO, Lakes Entertainment Inc. (NASDAQ: LACO) presented a plaque to Nick Fonseca and the Tribal Council to commemorate the milestone. Lakes Entertainment has an agreement with the Tribe to develop and manage the casino.

Scheduled to open during fourth quarter 2008, the Foothill Oaks Casino will set a new standard for gaming in Northern California. Once complete, the casino will blend Las Vegas-style excitement with the natural beauty of the Sierra Foothills. The casino will feature more than 2,000 slot machines, table games, six restaurants, four bars, and lighted and covered parking.

The Foothill Oaks Casino is owned by the Shingle Springs Tribal Gaming Authority, an instrumentality of the Shingle Springs Band of Miwok Indians. It is scheduled to open in the fourth quarter of 2008 near Placerville, Calif., located off of Highway 50, just 30 minutes east of Sacramento.
