CALVERT CITY, KY--(Marketwired - May 21, 2013) - The Kentucky Lake Motor Speedway, a Marshall County, Ky., landmark, will sell at an absolute auction on June 27. The property, which sits on 151 acres, will be offered in conjunction with an adjacent 317-acre tract of commercial land on I-24, each selling with no minimums and no reserves.
The Kentucky Lake Motor Speedway is located at the junction of I-24, Highway 62 and Purchase Parkway, with visibility from all three roadways. Having hosted annual events that included the Commonwealth Cup, Bluegrass Nationals, March Madness and Monster Jam, the Kentucky Lake Motor Speedway features a 30-degree banking in the turns and a 15-degree banking in the straightaway throughout its 3/8-mile clay track.
The Speedway's amenities include 14 VIP rental boxes, a kitchen and concession stand for the main grandstand, a souvenir shop, ticket sales booth, restrooms and storage. When the track's current owner, Sherri Heckenast purchased the property in 2004, she added an electronic scoreboard, visible from I-24. The property will sell with all existing equipment and furnishings.
The 317-acre commercial tract is currently zoned for commercial usage, suited for the area's increasing development, though it is also available for recreational use. Both properties are located near the popular Kentucky Dam Village State Park, Lake Barkley State Park and Land Between the Lakes.
