The Global Enterprise Mobility Alliance Adds Nicholas McQuire as Managing Director and CEO

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwired - May 1, 2013) - The Global Enterprise Mobility Alliance (GEMA) today announced that noted enterprise mobility expert Nicholas (Nick) McQuire has been named managing director and chief executive officer (CEO) of the alliance. McQuire comes to GEMA from the London office of research organization IDC, where he served as the vice president of enterprise mobility strategies.

"Nick is one of the most recognizable names in enterprise mobility, with sharp insight and deep understanding of the technologies and the value they bring," said John Marshall, CEO and president of AirWatch. "His experience as a trusted advisor to many global organizations will prove invaluable to ensuring that GEMA continues to refine its offering and better serve the global enterprise."

McQuire has more than 12 years' experience working in the enterprise mobility sector. At IDC, he advised leading industry and enterprise clients on critical trends and best practices shaping the global enterprise mobility sector. Prior to IDC, McQuire worked at BT Global Services within the firm's Marketing Centre of Excellence function where he provided regular strategic and customer insight for its mobility and unified communications portfolios. Before joining BT Global Services, he headed up European enterprise mobility research at Yankee Group.

"We at SCHIFFL are pleased that Nick McQuire has chosen to join GEMA. Nick is well known in the industry and is a trusted advisor to many CIOs around the world who will be looking to GEMA to help them implement their Enterprise Mobility Strategies. Nick brings to GEMA strong leadership and a clear understanding of the issues multi-nationals face in delivering on a global strategy," said Klaus Schiffl, CEO, SCHIFFL GmbH & Co. KG, Germany.

"We have great respect for Nick and for his understanding of Complete Enterprise Mobility and the transformative impact it can have organizations of all sizes," said Kris Snyder, CEO of Vox Mobile, Inc. "His global perspectives will provide unique and immediately recognizable value to our multi-national clients, the type of value we were hoping to create when we joined GEMA as a founding member."

"As an emerging, critical provider of global managed mobility services, GEMA presents both a fantastic challenge and a great opportunity for me," said McQuire. "I've spent years identifying and evaluating leading-edge mobility technologies for global firms, and now I look forward to helping steer GEMA through its next phase of evolution. Above all, I look forward to helping multi-nationals navigate tremendous technology change to achieve greater strategic value from mobility, critical to growing and competing on a global scale."
