Richmond Orthopaedic Surgeon Hires New Physician Assistant to Enhance Quality of Patient Care

Kacie Brosious, a Licensed Physician Assistant, Joins Dr. Jan-Eric Esway's Richmond Orthopaedic Surgery Practice to Assist With Surgeries and Provide an Advanced Level of Patient Care

NORTH CHESTERFIELD, VA--(Marketwired - Apr 2, 2013) - Dr. Jan-Eric Esway recently welcomed physician assistant Kacie Brosious to his Richmond Orthopaedic surgery practice to further enhance patient care and help support the practice's patient-focused reputation. A graduate of James Madison University, Brosious has a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies. As a licensed physician assistant, she will support Dr. Esway in the clinic as well as assist him with surgeries. According to Brosious, her goal is to excel in her role as PA and help ensure each patient has nothing but a great experience at Dr. Esway's orthopedic practice.

Brosious describes herself as a compassionate person and one who loves to help others. She says she is excited to be working at OrthoVirginia with Dr. Esway and predicts that she will be given innumerable opportunities to excel. She is particularly interested in surgeries pertaining to ligament reconstruction that are a common occurrence in sports medicine. In regard to how she feels she can enhance the practice as a whole, Brosious says: "By joining Dr. Esway and his team, I can bring a high level of optimism and really help to round out the patient's total experience and level of care."

Dr. Esway says he believes Brosious has great potential to grow as a PA and become an invaluable member of his practice. He notes that, having played soccer in college, Brosious understands the value of working in a team. Citing her work at a physical therapy clinic as evidence of her enthusiasm for the field of orthopedics, the Richmond orthopaedic surgeon also highlights that Brosious is intelligent, learns quickly, and has an outgoing personality.

While most PA graduates are smart and trainable, Dr. Esway says only a few possess a genuine caring attitude. Regarding the innate disposition, he says, "You can't teach this -- you either have it or you don't, and patients notice the difference." According to Dr. Esway, Brosious "just has it," and her caring attitude is what he says really made her stand out during the interview process.

Dr. Esway expects Brosious will enhance patient care at his practice on many levels. During surgeries, Brosious will help prepare patients for surgery, answer their questions, and assist with paperwork. She will also double-check details, help with standard postoperative care, and follow up with patients regarding test results. Ultimately, Dr. Esway says this additional assistance will allow him to me to see, and help, more patients who need his care and unique surgical skills.
