Escape of a Ste-Anne-des-Plaines Institution Inmate


STE-ANNE-DES-PLAINES, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - Jan. 31, 2013) - On January 31, 2013, at approximately 7:30 p.m., Raymond Rouette, an inmate from Ste-Anne-des-Plaines Institution, a minimum security federal institution, escaped during an escorted temporary absence while in Montreal. The Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) has contacted the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) and a warrant has been issued for his arrest.

Raymond Rouette, 51 years old, is described as 168 cm in height, his weight is 69 Kg (152 lb). He has brown eyes, brown hair and a scar on his left eye. He is serving an indeterminate sentence since February 25, 1988 for first degree murder.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Raymond Rouette is asked to contact police.

CSC and Ste-Anne-des-Plaines Institution will be conducting a joint investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident and are working with the SPVM to locate this offender as quickly as possible.

CSC has given the police all available information to assist in the inmate's apprehension.
