DryShips Inc. Announces the Results of 2012 Annual General Meeting of Shareholders


ATHENS, GREECE--(Marketwire - Oct 1, 2012) - DryShips Inc. (NASDAQ: DRYS), or the Company, a global provider of marine transportation services for drybulk and petroleum cargoes, and through its majority owned subsidiary, Ocean Rig UDW Inc., or Ocean Rig, of off-shore deepwater drilling services, today announced the results of its 2012 Annual General Meeting of Shareholders (the 'Meeting').

The following proposals were approved and adopted at the Meeting:

1. The election of Messrs. Evangelos Mytilinaios and George Xiradakis as Class B Directors to serve until the 2015 Annual General Meeting of Shareholders; and
2. The ratification of the appointment of Ernst & Young (Hellas) Certified Auditors Accountants S.A., as the Company's independent auditors for the fiscal year ended December 31, 2012.
