Scientific and Medical Coalition Against Cancer (SMCAC) Partners With Christopher's Haven

SMCAC Providing IT Support and Technology to Christopher's Haven in Boston, MA

BOSTON, MA--(Marketwired - Dec 22, 2014) - Scientific and Medical Coalition against Cancer (SMCAC), a non-profit organization, as part of its advocacy campaign provides cancer patients with donated computer systems and applies funds from donated equipment to fund cancer research, announces a partnership with Christopher's Haven, a home for kids with cancer when cancer hits home, to provide IT support, computer resources, and technology for its children with cancer, Boston location staff, and associated summer camps. This partnership was established to further the aims of both non-profit organizations to improve the lives of pediatric cancer patients and their families.

"Scientific Medical Coalition Against Cancer created websites www.recyclecomputers4cancer.org, www.donatemedicalequipment4cancer.org, www.donatelabequipment.org, and www.donatedentalequipment.org to provide resources to give patients free computers, tax write offs to donors for donated equipment, and to fund research to discover cancer therapies. With the donation of computers, technology and medical equipment, we are doing our part in helping cancer patients create awareness of their own specific illness, stay connected to friends, family, society, and the fight against cancer," explains Eric M. Grund, Ph.D., Founder of SMCAC, scientist, and cancer survivor. "Christopher's Haven is an amazing home away from home for families and children with cancer while going through treatment. We are humbled to provide Christopher's Haven with any and all IT support and technology for their staff and cancer patients."

"No one should have to go through what these kids or adults go through when diagnosed with cancer. You have to be a dynamic maverick that doesn't care what it takes to find a cure. This is why we have partnered with Eric at SMCAC, he understands that mentality to never giving up to find a cure," said Christopher Haven's founder, Dan Olsen, cancer survivor and activist.

One immediate goal of this partnership is to raise $100,000 for a research study to discover drugable molecular underpinnings of pediatric neurological cancer. To make a donation to SMCAC to help their efforts for cancer patients please visit www.smcac.org or the above websites. Donors are asked to visit local drop off sites listed on the websites for computer donations.
